Outline of BookShorts

Programs Available

to Publishers and Broadcasters

For Book Publishers

·         FUNDING SUPPORT: BookShorts has a fund to assist Canadian publishers in getting their books produced for the screen; we are looking for properties to develop and complete prior to launch of Moving Stories Film Festival in June 2008

·         SHORT COMPLEMENTS LONG: We specialize in the short-format and in packaging for broadcast – a non-competitive complement to the sale of feature and series rights.  We have many distribution programs to bring finished projects to audiences nationally.

·         SHORT LEADS TO LONG:  BookShorts films have been used in presentation packages that successfully sell book properties options to feature film and TV producers

For Production & Film Companies

·         CO-PRODUCTION PARTNERS: We are actively looking for co-production partners in BC, similar to what we have established in other provinces where we have shot and/or post-produced films and segments of our TV series.

·         CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:  BookShorts is producing the first Moving Stories Film Festival that will tour nationally in the Fall 2008 (Festival Programmer, Paul Quarrington with Advisors Robert Lantos and Anne Collins); next deadline for submissions for book-to-film short film adaptations is March 15.

For Broadcasters

MEDIA AVAILABLE FOR BROADCAST: BookShorts owns their book-to-film properties, and packages the catalogue for TV series and broadband syndication; the complete catalogue is available on request.

British Columbia Film, in association with the Association of Book Publishers of British Columbia (ABPBC)

and the Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA), presents this one day conference
