FIGHTING MEN Broadcast Dates on Moving Stories TV

Award-winning host Paul Quarrington presents two short films, exploring the process of filmmaking and adapting the printed word for a multi-media universe.

Sunday, Nov 26 at at 8:30am, 11am, 1pm EST on CLT
and
Thursday, Nov. 30 8pm EST on BookTelevision

In FIGHTING MEN, the episode addresses depictions of violence both fictional and real when Craig Davidson’s novel “The Fighter” is made into a powerful drama, and Nathaniel Fick’s “One Bullet Away” documents the young authors’ visceral experience on the front-lines of America’s war with Afghanistan and Iraq.

Chapters Indigo Joins BookShorts Network

We are especially pleased to welcome Canada's largest book retailer to the BookShorts network of syndicated outlets for our roster of films, and just in time for the holidays! Starting this month, ChaptersIndigo.ca will be adding the entire BookShorts catalogue to the online community, title by title on the "items" page for each book, helping to introduce even more eyeballs, fans and the committed reading public to the excellent books and authors profiled on screen. Reciprocal links to the retailer will be included on each of the BookShorts website pages as an aid to viewers.

Archetypes Theatrical Premiere; The Upside of Down TINARS

Archetypes: The Expectant Mother, based on the humourous book of profiles written by Mireille Silcoff and illustrated by Kagan McLeod (McClelland & Stewart) will screen at the 2006 One Minute Film & Video Festival, November 22 at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto. Pages Books & Music This Is Not A Reading Series hosts Thomas Homer-Dixon in the Toronto event of his North American tour ; Thursday, November 24 at Innis Town Hall. The event will open with the premiere event screening of the BookShort The Upside of Down, introduced by Michael McGarry, who adapted the non-fiction work for the screen; Director Gary Thomas will also be in attendance.
