TeachingBooks.net and BookShorts
Distribution Alliance
Children's Publishers Take Note
-- BookShorts and TeachingBooks.net will be partnering to produce
and distribute new Author Profiles for writers and illustrators
of books for children and teens. TeachingBooks provides access
to authoritative children’s literature resources including
the best writers, illustrators and insightful teaching material,
to their North American subscribers including school boards, libraries,
educational institutions, and dedicated caregivers of all stripes.
Production will begin at BookExpo Canada,
and include the profiles in the BEC SCRIPT
TO SCREEN program -- for details visit BookShorts.com/bookexpo
Ever since we watched the L-Team
video (funny stuff Nick!) we've been musing about how
we might add to the video immortalization of such a hard-working,
book-lovin' posse. Lance at BEA has given us just the catalyst
to get down to it -- together we'll be stalking the real-live
L-Team in the Librarians Lounge at BookExpo, to find out exactly
why they love the show (ok, for the real inside joke, watch
March of the Librarian also by Nick on YouTube- LOL!)
SEND US A PRESS RELEASE
if you are one of the L-Team, or have an author attending
that makes a good news story -- email judith@bookshorts.com;

One lucky indie artist wins a BookShorts
SCRIPT TO SCREEN video production package -
complete with post-production and distribution - just for letting
us know you virtually exist.
Step 1. Think of a cool
video idea about your zine or your indie print project and pitch
it to BookShorts -- on-screen!
Step 2. Dust off your
Bolex, borrow a camcorder, use your cell phone, talk at the
webcam, flex your Flash fingers, hey just take a photo and narrate
your story to it -- all you need is a good idea and 60 seconds
of rant. It's the pitch -- we'll make your video when you win
:)
Step 3. Go to www.brokenpencil.com and
fill out an entry form. Send it along with your video pitch.
Make sure you send that gem before midnight on May 24 - or else
you will be sad.
On May 25 visit BookShorts.com to see
ALL the fab video-idea-gems, and we'll Announce The Shoot-Out
Winner!
This contest made possible by Broken
Pencil, BookExpo Canada
and the wonderful authors without whose DIY we'd all be for
nought.
